We inhabit a world as part of its eco system, one that has been in exhistence for millions of years, ever changing and evolving. We have a duty to the planet our future generations and all other lifeforms with which we share the Earth to consider our actions and the consequences they have of sustaining life for the future.
The evolution if the human race has had a tremendous impact on this precious eco system and whilst global warming has been the buzz topic for many years, the greatest threat may very well be environmental pollution to our water sources. Should our water tables, rivers and oceans become so polluted as to not sustain life at almost any level we're in big trouble.
The earth has a limited amount of water. That water keeps going around and around in what we call the "Water Cycle". The water, falls on the earth from the clouds, makes its way into the water table going through the earth elemental table or makes its way into rivers and oceans as water run off from the land and hills, where it is evaporated into the atmosphere becoming clouds and rain (Precipitation).
This cycle is made up of a few main parts:
This sounds like and is a fairly simple formula, however there is a lot more to water than this. Take a glass of water, the water in your glass may have fallen from the sky as rain just last week, but the water itself has been around pretty much as long as the earth has!
Water is necessary for the support of all life on earth and in the "Water Cycle" it is continually filtered by nature to ensure it can sustain life. What happens when we (The human race) continue to pollute our environment, lakes, rivers and oceans? How long will it take before it starts to affect the eco system and make the water unfit to sustain life? The truth is it's happening right now and we need to limit our pollution before the effects are irreversible!
How do we go about minimising our carbon footprint?
Where water and essential hydration is concerned, just by drinking tap water (filtered) instead of bottled water you can start to make a change for the better and save yourself a lot of money in the process.
